Did anyone happen to read this little doozy? Ill never go to any of these carnivals ever again probably, and if I do to meet up or somehting i will certainly not be giving them any of my money.

"A summertime tradition as American as apple pie could be hurt by the congressional deadlock over immigration reform.

Local carnival operators say they may be forced to offer fewer rides and skip some smaller events this year because they are having trouble getting the workers they need. Last year, two local ride operators got about half their workers through the visa program that's being held up."

now im not against immigration, and im not against seasonal immigrant workers be it non-agricultural or agricultural, whatever, no matter to me. But what I don't understand is why we have 20 percent unemployment rate in AH and they wont be able to put on their carnivals for us?

Fantasy Amusement says, "Our family-owned and -operated business that we have built for the last 23 years is in real jeopardy," And Blomsness All-Star Amusements said, "Without these workers, we will have to severely scale down our business,"

Do you expect me to take pity on you, or perhaps write my congressman an angry letter? I think not.. Your business has survived for 23 years, and the whole time it was run by seasonal immigrant workers? I think not.. What I do think though is that you can take some of the people that are unemployed in the town that you do business in, train them and give them jobs. Or does that fall under the catagory of not being cost efficent and you wont pull in the profit margin you got so acustomed to? Im sorry, but I simply cannot feel bad for companies who go to mexico to find workers who do the work and accept the lowest wage the company can possibly get away with paying them, and nor do I think anyone should. I feel for the workers, I do, they are not the enemy here. Comapnies like the ones in the article are the enemy, driving down wages and eliminating jobs, and when they cant get away with driving down wages then the people pay the price, not them. I know plenty of people who could use the jobs, but will they hire us? By the looks of the article id say no. Or else the article would have been about how they need workers and are hiring, but instead we get, you wont get the same show you usually do cause the mexicans cannot cross the borders to work this year?

im totally disgusted..
