Oh geez.. I typed this whole long thing and it got wiped out, here goes the short version..
I wish I could be that optimistic about it stimulating the economy but I cant:)
If you make the money to make ends meet, weither they be daily, weekly or monthly, then yeah, maybe they will spend spend spend. They are the few who have the money to do that without really worrying what the next year, or month will bring. But the people who have trouble or just have enough to make ends meet daily, weekly or monthly, the majority, I see most likely paying off car payments, credit cards, rent or saving in the bank. the people I talk to all pretty much say the samething, they will pay off bills and save most of it, doing very little to boost the economy. they would much rather pay the things they need to then buy designer clothes or an Ipod this month just to be homless next month.
I am unusally optimistic that the Senate will add on the money for extending unemployment benefits for workers whose benefits have run out, boost home heating subsidies and raise food stamp benefits. But really, in the end, if they really want to get this money out to the people. They will bend if not fold on these issues and what they feel is right and will benefit a broader span of people equally,
