What is the salary of the AH mayor?

What is the salary of the AH Chief of Police?  How about the salary of the public works head?

Where can I find salaries of all public officials?  I assume this is public information that we're entitled to as taxt payers, right?

Thanks for the question!  I'm still getting information on the other salaries, but the Village President's (Mayor's) pay is set according to the VAH Municipal Code at $8500.

That could be enough to pay for the mayor's house taxes...  Anyone want to run?  Great information!

I just had a call back from the folks at the Village Clerk's office with the following information:

Mayor's salary:  $8500
Director of Public Works:  $125,449 (5/06-4/07)
Chief of Police:  $125,024  (5/06-4/07)

Increases in salary for the Director of Public Works and the Police Chief are voted on by the Village Trustees in a special ordinance each year.  Keep in mind that elected officials often have fairly low salaries while you have to consider that administrative/hired officials are comparable to executives/managers in the corporate world, thus they often have significantly higher compensation.

If you're interested in other staff members' salaries, you can contact the Village Clerk at 847-368-5541.  They can give you the Dept. Heads' information very quickly, but it may require  a Freedom of Information Act request to see other employees' salaries (and yes, that still means that they're considered public information!).
